Ashbourne Alpacas

Located in the Macedon Ranges at Woodend, Ashbourne Alpacas is an emerging alpaca stud breeding white & coloured huacayas.

Our breeding program is focused on developing high frequency and high amplitude fleece characteristics with a soft handle and fine micron. We work with our alpacas regularly to ensure that they are easier to manage for paddock rotations; transportation; and especially at husbandry times.

Our farm is approximately 37 acres, sits at 650 metres above sea level and has an annual rainfall of around 900mm. Set within a gently undulating landscape, our property is bordered by 50 year old cypress hedging which ensures adequate protection from all weather.

All paddocks have improved pasture and gravity fed water, together with natural or man-made shelters. Laneways have been established to ensure ease of movement for the herd and to ensure regular paddock rotation.
